Ever wonder how to choose the right research topic for your paper? Join us for this brief online workshop, where we will discuss how to select the right topic for you!
Learning Objectives:
- The workshop will introduce the basics topic selection as pertains to a specific assignment.
- The workshop will discuss how and where to search for background information.
- The workshop will cover browsing for topics in Points of View Reference Center and other databases.
- The workshop will feature a discussion of basic search techniques that help refine your search.
- The workshop will show how to search broadly in our Worldcat Discovery, as well as our subject specific databases.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will be able to choose what types of topics are best for their assignment.
- Participants will be able to browse Kean databases for current and related topics.
- Participants will be able to refine their searches to suit the size of their project
- Participants will be able to perform basic searches in WorldCat Discovery.
- Participants will be aware specific subject-based databases that fit their research assignment.
