Close Reading Strategies In-Person / Online

In this workshop, students will explore effective reading strategies designed to enhance their ability to retain, analyze, and synthesize academic texts. The session will focus on techniques for approaching dense or challenging readings, helping students navigate key concepts, arguments, and evidence with greater efficiency.

Session objectives include:

- Identifying critical themes and core ideas in scholarly articles,

- Developing strategies to take meaningful notes and summarize key points,

- Understanding different learning styles, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic, to improve comprehension and engagement,

- Discovering tools for organizing and categorizing information, and

- Balancing reading loads and optimizing reading time.
