Writing the Personal Statement for Careers In-Person
This workshop will help graduate students write personal statements for career applications, including but not limited to academic positions, fellowships, or industry roles. Participants will learn how to highlight their strengths, experiences, and career goals to align with expectations of potential employers or selection committees. The session will cover strategies for effectively structuring personal statements, balancing narrative with accomplishments, and emphasizing passion for the field. Students will also explore how to tailor their statements and address potential challenges in their academic or professional histories.
