Getting Started with Canvas Badges is a session devoted to learning how the Canvas Badges LTI can be used in courses to award badges to students. We will outline the steps to creating and connecting your Canvas Badges account, setting up badges in a course, awarding badges, and tracking student progress.

This session is part of a training program Kean purchased from Canvas, therefore you must register with Canvas (by following the directions below in red text). To help the CTL track faculty use of these sessions, please also register here in the LibCal system.

(1) Sign into Canvas

(2) On the global menu (on left) scroll to the bottom and click on "Help"

(3) Clidk on Training Service Portal

(4) Click the "authorize" button. (if this is your first time using the system)

(5) On the top you will see three tabs. Click on the "Live Training Calendar" Tab. 

(6) Find the course you want to register for.

(7) Click on it and register. 

(8) You will get an email from "Instructure Learning Services" with details on how to access the ZOOM for this event. 

 In addition to using the email invitation, you can also join this session from the Training Portal by following the below directions:

● Open Canvas and click on the Help Menu

● Open the Training Portal and then on Live Training Calendar

● Find the session you have registered for

● Select the more options (the three vertical dots) 

● Choose Join Session
