Writing Skills Series - Free-Writing as Pre-Writing In-Person / Online

This workshop supports students in the critical stages before their first draft is due, helping them lay a solid foundation for their writing projects.

Session objectives include:

- Engaging in brainstorming exercises to spark ideas and explore different angles for papers or creative work,

- Gaining effective strategies for organizing thoughts and structuring outlines,

- Focusing on planning and preparation,

- Managing complex ideas, and

- Developing a logical flow for drafts.

The workshop will also address common challenges such as writer's block and the fear of starting. Throughout the session, students will have opportunities to collaborate with peers, share their progress, and refine their approach to the writing process.
